Urgent Tranny making weird noise

Folks,

This morning following a very jerky shift to 2nd gear, the Auto box now makes a strange noise - like a pump trying to push air. a noise that sounds like a cog or bremmel on high speed the noise appears to speed up and down by itself while driving, Noise clears when idle or if you take it out of gear when driving in forward motion in 2nd,3rd and 4th. All gears work ok at the moment. Engine does not appear to be causing this noise

I have just had the truck up on axle stands and in gear, at low speed it appears to be ok, but when reaching 2000 rpm the noise appears to be coming from the pan somewhere.

Is this something anyone has seen or heard of, I am not sure if to drive the truck as this may damage something

I am in the UK so a investigation into the noise must be planned well ahead as sourcing any spares will be a challenge, any advise will be appreciated !!

What may be the cause of this noise ? -

please help !!

Fluid level is ok? Is the OD light blinking? Allot times when the 4r100 is in distress they throw a code... Has the tranny been apart recently? If you can fine anything obivious you will have to take it in for a mechanic to look at it...Good luck...
