Got Some new Brakes !
Got Some new Brakes !
Hey guys, I just figured I'd share that I just bought and installed some new rotors for the truck...I got them from Rich at RotorPros.com. They seem to be very well made and look fantastic, I just installed them so no hard breaking tests were made, but they should be great. I also installed Performance Friction Pads. Cant wait till the break in period is over. Anyway heres some pics. BTW I wanna say thank you again to Noah(Snipizo) for coming by and letting me make use of his air compressor, as well as chill and help out with the install. Heres some Pics

I highly reccomend Rich as he ships fast and can color the rotors any color you wish. He also has rotors for just about any and all models of cars, trucks, and vans. I opted for the black painted hubs. They are also all Zinc Plated to prevent rusting.

I got a special price of 300 shipped for all 4 rotors including the paint
They normally go for 325shipped.

OK for Tim,
During the electroplating process of tempered/heat treat steel alloys hydrogen molecules can be introduced in to the steel. Post plating baking can help to relieve the problem but not necessarily eliminate it. With hydrogen present in the steel the will crack/shatter like glass. The other negative to plating rotors is that zinc is a lubricant. Why would you want to lube you rotors? But you say it only lasts for a few miles before it's removed by the pads. Well that zinc gets embedded in the pads and will be there for the life of the pad.
But hey, it's just brakes. They only slow you down anyway. Just tglad they are not my brakes. Have you ever seen a vehicle of any make or a race application with zinc plated rotors????
