Question Aftermarket intercooler?

I have a 99L and the intercooler update has been done, my question is does anyone make an aftermarket intercooler? I see these things called "heat exchangers" is that just a glorified name for an intercooler? Also if it is why don't the unfortunate people with leaky I/C install them instead of the more expensive ford kit, they seem to be more available?

the heat exchanger is the radiator type thing under the front bumper. the intercooler core is what leaks and is mounted inside the lower intake.
