Wow, that sucks guys! Glad you're both alright. Mine's locked away in a garage staying warm undercover.

Thumper, where in Ohio are you?

That's not true. I had some work done to my black Mustang about a year ago and there are varying shades of Black. It still needs to be blended.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Thumper and hope everything works out for you.

Yeah, a lady ran a stop sign and hit my black 94 Ranger and it never did match after they painted it.

Your 2003 should be easy to match since it is just a year or two old and you have stored it during the winter.

Black is black, It "can" be blended but it's generally not a good idea. Black is a color that is usually just "panel" painted. No such thing as "different" shades of black. If a black paint job doesn't match it's probably just because the "new" black looks better than the older black. Or..... they used a single stage black instead of a basecoat/ clearcoat paint or visa versa. Or... the texture or "orangepeel " is different than the original factory paint which may give the impression that it is a different shade.

A quality auto body shop will have that Lightning looking like it was never damaged, probably will look better than before it was wrecked........ So no worries. Just be glad the owner wasn't hurt.

At least you're ok. Those look like the stock F1's...if so, they REALLY SUCK IN THE SNOW!!! (there's even a sticker in the driver's door warning not to use them in the winter)

Trucks can be repaired, good luck.
