How to get the most power...

Hey guys I need a little help here. Iv done a lot of research but I just want to know what you guys think. I have a 2001 L 18,000 miles with a spit plug. It also has 22' momos, a 8" diameter lower pully and stock upper pully. Some weird chip that jus takes away govenors I think. I also have 4.10 gears that need to be put in. I have $6000 (tax return) that I want to put into it. $2000 into drop cobra R hood and bumper. So $4000 left for performance... I was thinking... JLP heads $1600, Chip/tune $400, 6# lower pully $300, catback $600, air intake $160, 80 shot nos $1000. I have a friend that will help me do all the work. What do you guys think? What would you do if your truck was as stock as mine and you had 4 grand to get the most power you could?

Thanks for any help.

Save the 2K and spare yourself the ridiculous looking bumper and get a MP Blower kit. PSP is running a sale on them right now.

What brand/type of nitrous do you plan on running? The ZEX kit is 500-600 if you do your own install.

IMO, with that list I'd find a good a$$ tuner and get her dyno tuned. Being on the east coast leave many of us with our pick of some of the best out there, not sure about where you are.

Also, a fuel pressure gauge and wideband a/f gauge to be on the safe side.

I dont know what PSP is... Is this blower goin to give me more power then the things I said? How much is it? Is my truck going to handle it and still be a daily driver?

About the nos

I planed on that much for the nos because the bottle heater and auto opener since it will be in the bed. Little stuff like that adds up. Im sure you know. Im in northern Nevada. You would get a dyno tune for sure?

WOW! Ok let's get you straight.
PSP= Power Surge Performance.
JLP= Johnny Lightning Performance
JDM=? I allways forget.

Get the hood..$1,000 including paint
Forget the bumber

1) 4# lower pulley..$200 or so with belt
2) Mangum Powers blower..$1750 on sale now at PSP?
3) JLP Ram air intake..$285
4) Denso IT22 plugs.. $75
5) Predator hand held flasher/scanner with custom tune. Go with PSP since he has lots of expereince with the Magnum Powers blower. $400
6) Get a FTVB ( Factory tech valve body ) Better shifts and help extend tranny life. Get the FTVB kit. I comes with a larger /4x4 trans pan and filter $225
7) Get a set of JLP taction bars. ( will keep you from snaping a drive shaft $ 365
8) Get a Drive shaft saftey loop. $65
9) Get a cat back of choice $500
10) Get a time sert kit to fix your head $250

GRAND TOTAL= $5115.00 and be running low 12s high 11s with slicks on a "safe tune"

P.S You still have some $$ left over for a lowering kit and nice night at the stip club. .and yes a real DYNO TUNE is recommended if you want you motor to stay in one peice.

Heres what i would do because i have tried it all and this worked best for me.

400 Steig ported eaton
200 4lb lower
400 Sal tuned SCT chip
300 JL ram air box
800 NX wet kit with warmer/psp plate/remote opener (one 4 sale in the parts section of NLOC.net with everything) run it at 50 shot
1200 longtubes/mids/catback
225 FTVB with 4x4 pan
375 58" bars
450 nitto 555rs

Now go have some fun for 4350 which is a little over estimated and leaves money for your hood and stuff

hit me up an email or on aim if you have any other Q's

I like the idea but what about the spit plug? There are no threads left in the hole at all. Will a sert kit work? Is a steig ported eaton where I send off my blower and get it ported? If so what are the results like? How much boots does it run? Get the nitto's for my stock wheels... for racing? How much power does your truck have with this setup? What does it run 1/4 mile?

A sert will work. My truck makes about 14-15lbs. steig is where u send the blower to get ported. I run nittos on my stock wheels all the time and they are great. Last time i dynoed with my setup it was 476rwhp and that was before headers and 2.85 upper. there are no 1/4's around here but i ran a 11.81 on my gtech the other night

You made 476 with a 4# and a ported eaton? That has to be by far the most HP I've heard of with the combo!

That is unistalled. And i meant minus the catback.I went with the kooks lt's and mids/silver bullet catback

Give RWTD a call if you want the cheapest price on a full exhaust. They were by far the cheapest when i was gonna go the cheap route

If your name is sick03L on the other board then yep i've met ya at capitol before and we were exchanging faster times. My name on nloc is Derek2001. Only reason it is 94 is because i had a 94 mustang when i registered on here, then i sold it and got my L. Anyhow, i go to capitol sumtimes, i'll probably be there when it warms up a little, i'd prefer it to be high 40's or 50's.
