JLP traction bar install?

I have rounded up the missing hardware and I am going over the instructions and I am unclear on one thing.

#13 states Prior to drilling the horizontal holes in the frame, use the floor jack to raise the passenger side of the vehicle and place on a jackstand"

Im not totally sure why I need to do this? Do I need to keep the pass side jacked up while doing both sides?

Bob

Me either. You just want to make sure the suspension is loaded equally on both sides before doing any drilling for the front brackets. I drilled the vertical holes first then used the bracket as a template for the horizontal holes...Just be careful on the driverside because of fuel lines and the fuel tank. I used a small piece of plate steel as a backstop for when I was drilling on the driverside....
