I love this thing

I just install my FTVB on saturday and i love it. I surpise the hell out of a Corvette when i churp second gear next to him. Thanks Robs02lightning your pics of the install where priceless. They made installation a piece of cake. I took it to the track on Sunday. My previouse best was a 14.186 and with traction bars and the FTVb i ran 13.933, 13.936 on nitto 555 radials. I then put on my MT Et streets and being brand new it too me a few passes to get them broke in a bit and learn how to lauch. But on my last run i heated the crap out of them. Lauched at 800 rpms and puched it and ran a 13.743 my 60' was 1.97. God i love my truck i cant wait to get my chip reburn and put my 4#, 90mm, and zex kit on. April 15th wont get here fast enough for the next test and tune.

thanks
Kevin

so were your mods a chip, ftvb, traction bars, and slicks? sounds pretty good. is your chip burned fairly safe or aggressive?

No the only mods i had on were my jlp intake, Ftvb, trac bars and slicks. I just sent my chip to Sal to get it reburned for the 4# pulley, and 90mm, and nitrouse on the other side of the chip.

Maybe a stupid question but my Superchip makes the trans shift very aggressively and I tought I read the valve body should NOT be used if a computer chip increases trans line pressure ......

Is there a conflict and what to do if you already invested $$$ in a custome chip.. please enlighten

Yes the superchip when they tune it will firm up shifts if you dont have a valve body. IF its a good tuner they wont write the chip to firm up shifts because you already have a valve body. When i sent my chip back to get reburned i told sal that i had the FTVB so he wouldnt firm the shifts up any more.

Ok guys, give me your opinions please. After reading Kevs times I fell pretty good. Have an '02 L BONE stock except for Bassani x pipe with cats and cat back and K-N drop in. My daughter (17) bracket races it. Best time to date with new F-1's is 13.59 at 102 mph with 2.01 60 ft times. This was on her 5th run ever!! Are we in the hunt with a basically stock L?

That a good time you would naturally be faster than me because of your gearing and extra hp than the 99-00 L's. My run was made with my tailgate and spare still on. Plus my 235lb tubby body. Once i get my chip back ill be shooting for mid to high twelves. You definatly have a good start. Im new to drag racing so im still learning.
