Question 2001 rims on 99

i really like the look of the 2001 rims and i have a 99 lightning, ive been told the 2001 and newer rims wont fit because there are different size bolts, does anyone know about this?

the studs on the 99 are smaller 12mm I think and the later trucks have larger studs 14mm I think something like that.

the larger holes should fit over the smaller studs..
lugnuts for 12mm should work with later wheels but I not positive.

Be sure before you buy.

Don is right.... The 99 L's take 12 mm bolts on the hub while 2000 and newer use 14 mm.

It will work just fine

The stud size ONLY effects the lug nuts.

Since the 2001 rim is made for the slightly larger studs - it will easily fit on the 12mm 99 studs

wont my wheels holes strip if i use the newer rims with larger holes? the rims i have now have oblong lug holes!! thats why im lookin for new rims in the first place. seems like it would be worse if i use a rim with larger lug holes

The Lightnig rim is designed to center on the HUB and the lugnuts have washers on them to allow you to tighten them.

If your stock rims have obling holes then you have other problems. either the truck was run with the lugs loose or something else

I had a 2000 before i bought my 2004 and I have swapped tires with 99 owners in the past with no issues
