Not really, that's an average price for an aftermarket aluminum block.

Definitely is interesting though. I just got a new WP catalog and don't recall seeing that in there.

Weight ?

Wonder how much weight would be trimmed over the stock iron block?

Sal I have been emailing you for the past few weeks but have not received a response. Is there a better way to get a hold of you?

Thanks, Jason

Give us a call and leave a message and Lisa will call you back towards the end of the day. I am usually always backed up on e-mails, especcially the past few weeks, because we've had a huge rush of nonstop shop work.

OK I will leave a detailed message of what I need in case Lisa has to ask you since what I have to ask may not be a usual question.

EDIT: Thanks for the rely on the email Sal. I sent a reply and also gave Lisa a call. When I hear back from her I will put the order through. Thanks!

This is the end of the post hijack! Sorry!!!! :o

Thanks, Jason

Expect to save roughly 100lbs compared to stock. Awful expensive for an approx. .1 sec ET advantage.

Theres more to it than just weight. The bigger bore adds a lot of breathing room to the cylinder heads and the bores are a lot stiffer. The bores in a stock iron block start to move around a lot as the power goes up.

On a side note...I just got the Darton MID sleeves in the mail yesturday and the thrust faces are around .300 thick and the sleeves are made from a much better material. Cant wait to get this thing to the machine shop.

Also you could stare at this for a little while. http://www.karkraft.com/bare_blocks.htm

This block has to be sleeved to get the larger bore and with the other machine work involved could equal or exceed the price of the WP block.
