Not lame at all. Your engine compartment looks clean and functional. I see no reason to stick on a bunch of useless doo-dads unless you are doing the "show truck" thing. For my tastes, an engine compartment should remain businesslike and OEM-looking.

I bought the DG shroud and loom cover, but have not gotten around to installing it yet. I have no idea why I bought it; I guess I just like the look of real carbon fiber, even on a 5,000 lb farm implement.

I special ordered the pieces with the DG logo deleted. I don't like unpaid advertising on my parts and it takes away from the OEM look. Also, there are lots of voids in the CF fabric, so daylight can show through (you can see a little of that in the closeup than Don's Bolt posted). I am going to mist coat the underside in flat black to mitigate this.

Tim,
I am trembling at the thought that I might be able to give the great Tim Skelton a bit of useful advice....

A friend of mine has a body shop. A few years ago we painted about $16,000 worth of carbon fiber parts for another friend's Ducati 996.
The pieces were Ducati "Race Glass" so they were close to unfinished CF.
He wanted them shiny and more for show.
Painting them with a confentional spray gun didn't work - the paint went right through, so we ended up mixing up clear and brush painting them with a slow reducer.
The clear had a tendency to drip through the weave, so we ended up taping the backside with duct tape, and painting the tops with a brush and clear.

The end result was beautiful, and we even sanded and buffed them a bit. However, we added a noticeable amount of weight to the parts.
Anyway, my point is that you might want to use clear, not black, and a brush might work better.

As an interesting side note, the Ducati dealer sent photos of the finished product back to the factory, and now Ducati sells them finished the same way.

Id post mine but it has a big hole in it where my heavy a$$ cervini hood slamed on my drop light and broke my shroud. I think im definatley going carbon fiber just need to know where to buy it.

Well.... I got the shroud finished....it's not totally complete, but close enough. I put on the magnaflow sticker, but not sure I will keep it there. It has a few water spots that will not come off.....may have to use fine grit paper to get them off. thanks to all for some good ideas!!!

Anyway...here it is......along with a couple shots of my new magnaflow muffs. Thanks Mark @LFP...
