2005 Ssr

What do u guys think of the 2005 Chevy SSR? I kinda liked the 2003 but it was slow! For 05 it has the LS2 with 390 HP. So 0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 of mid 13's at 100mph. Sounds like this lil truck can do all we can stock for stock and be a convertible. Im kinda really wanting one now, not that i have any money or anything. I miss my old eclipse convertible and this truck would be best of both worlds. Well i guess it cant tow but neither can my slammed L lol. I still think the L looks way nicer, just missing the convertible aspect i guess. Well just wondering what you guys think.

I kinda like the retro style, and yes, they finnally gave it some omph. BUT, it will not Haul cargo like ours, and I have serious doubts about it's tow capacity. it has'nt ever been considered a TRUCK, GM wont even call it one, it's a thier Roadster, and IMO, has a Heck of a ways to go before it can be considered in the same category as a TRUCK. which ours are.

2 positives, convertible and LS2.

2 negatives, gay looking non-muscular feminine looks, attracts gays.

avoid being seen driving a SSR....unless you like wearing pink.

The Lightning is a bargain in comparison to the SSr and some of
the other choices.

The drivetrain upgrades have made a significant difference in performance. The original 300 HP Vortec 5.3L powered SSR turned 0-60 mph in 7.6 seconds with a quarter-mile performance of 15.9 seconds at 90 mph. The '05 SSR clocked a 0-60 mph time of 5.29 seconds with the manual gearbox and 5.49 with the automatic. Quarter-mile times were dramatically improved: 13.83 sec at 103.38 mph with the manual, and 13.95 sec at 99.2 mph with the automatic
Actually, not very impressive at all. $50k for one of these things??? I would rather spend $50k on a Dodge SRT-10 instead of the girly man SSR…
