Time for some upgrades.....and a question for you guys with KB's

Well after getting married last year, buying a house, ect ect ect.
It is time to add some power to my Lightning.

My truck is an 03 with 30k miles on it, its my daily driver by choice and will continue to be because I just enjoy it that much.

Current mods :

Misc appearance mods.
6lb lower, have a 4lb ring also
tr6 plugs
air raid filter kit with box
dynatech long tubes with high flow cats
bassani cat back
nitto 555r in the rear
lowered / aligned with cam bolts
wideband
gauges
minor weight reduction - hitch - spare ect ect
pcv mods
FTVB with 4x4 pan
EGR delete
custom predator tune from RWTD.

Truck dynoed 403/509 and ran 8.17 @ 86 thru the 1/8 mile

Ordered in the last couple of days

KB 2.3 with 3" upper
KB polished TB
C&L plenum
60lb inj
sct 2400 maf
twin 255lph pumps
JLP traction bars

My plans are to get the truck to run atleast mid 7's thru the 1/8 mile and make 500/600. If it blows up or tosses a rod at this power level I am ok with that. It will just give me an excuse to take it to the next level.

My question is this? Do you think I will need a idler with the 3" KB pulley?

Bob

You probably wont NEED idlers, but you could upgrade to 100mm pulleys for insurance..I did!

I just replaced the stock 90mm idlers for 100mm ones!

Thanks guys -

I will see how it goes with out the idlers, My gauges can record so I can make some runs and watch the boost on replay.
I am really excited, the KB is going to ROCK!!!!

Bob

Ps - the wheels in my sig are just photoshopped.

Jeff,

Where did you get those idlers? I've looked on several sites and nobody shows the KB ones.

58" traction bars. if u do blow it up and take it to the next level then a cage might be a good idea.. also slicks for the track?

ordered the traction bars today from JLP...hopefully they will clear the bassani.

Slicks and a convertor are next up.... I am gonna see how well I can do on the DR and stock convertor first.

I use Dr's for everyday tires and slicks for the track. You're gonna use up DR's practicing, unless you plan on street racing.
