What about using a 6#w/a ported eaton? Is the efficency out the window?

My goal is 110 ish trap speed with total safty I won't be in the truck all that much becasue I have a bike also but when I drive it I want it to be fast. so I need to do a lower pullie to aviod belt slip? I'l have to call my shop and ask them what they think

evo, if I'm not mistaken even in stock to slightly overdriven form it's past it's efficiency range. That's why a porting or one of the aftermarket blowers are such an improvement. But then again Ford gave us a very good price because this was an off the shelf blower.

I'm not sure where a 6# and say a Apten port is on efficiency? It's definately better than on a non ported truck. Just make sure there is enough fuel to keep things cool. ESPECIALLY on the top end (rpms) where all the heat is. Also I'd be leary of a blower that's been opened too much on the bottom. The dimensional stablility when you remove the "structure" just goes out the window. let alone over spinning the thing by some percentage.

Many people will say otherwise, but as a FEAD engineer for FORD on THIS motor I say YES about the belt slip issue. It's simple science... the less contacting surface area the greater the chance of belt slip. Period.

btw: 110 trap speed is up there. These things are as aerodynamic as are bricks. I found that I could trap these speeds by relieving engine room pressure.
