I'm in the market for some Hi-flow cats and I see Bassani sells 2 differnt kits Aluminized Steel and Stainless Steel,price differnce is about $200.What is the differnce in the 2,aluminize and stainless steel???

i hope i can offer a few quick answers. first the ss has lifetime warranty and the alum. has only one year... if a piece of road debris hits the alum. pipes or muffler sooner or later it will rust because it is just aluminized steel. although, the alum. mufflers still retain ss baffels on the inside. in some cases it is easier to sell a ss exhuast than alum.

reguardless of which you choose bassani makes a great product, and you will not be dissapointed w/ the sound or fit and finish of their products.

also... if u live in a place where they use salt on roads alot because of snow, u might consider the SS version because the salt will corrode the aluminum very quickly.

 

Keep in mind, the Aluminized will stay rust free longer than your stock system. If you don't plan on keeping your truck for 15-20 years, save your money and go with the BX. Same great sound, same mufflers, same tips, etc....
