How did you pay this guy? I ask because you might be able to stop payment (check) or dispute it if it was a credit card. Tell them the job was not completed correctly to your satisfaction. It’s worth a try at least…

I like the phone number idea…

Does he happen to own a freaking cat?

Did the guy have a glass eye? That looks like butt.

P.S. Now that I think about it, I bet the guy took it as an insult when you gave him the picture, and that was the result. Either way, he's a jerk. Post his phone # so I can call.

Took the L in for some new exhaust tips Friday. I decided on the Magnaflow tips and man was I excited. Told the guy I wanted the tips aligned just like the ones he was going to take off. I gave him a photo just in case he needed something for reference. Get there to pick it up and this is what I find.

I politely asked for the photo I gave him and asked him why did he not line up the tips like the ones in the photo. His response was "I know what looks best, I have been doing this for 30 years". I kindly explained that this is one of the trademarks of the Lightning and I would appreciate it if he would line the tips up like I wanted. He said no problem but it will cost another $50.00.

I went off like a bomb and he ran in the office. The cops were called and I was told to leave the property or go to jail.

Sorry for the rant but I feel much better now. Looks like I need to go ahead and order the Bassani catback. All I can say is paybacks are hell!!!!
Sorry about your problem with the shop, but why did you pay fo it if you weren't satisfied? Never pay for work until it's completed to your satisfaction. If they require a deposit that's one thing, but if the required you to pay for the work before, then that's an indicator to find another shop. As you found out, going ballistic on the place only gets the cops in your face. There are better methods in getting what you want accomplished. Did you ever talk to the owner? Good luck in getting it resolved and if you paid by CC you can dispute the charge through them.

I'am speculating, however they probley had his keys so he had to pay. I'am sure if he had a choice he wouldn't of paid.

When I bought my Bassani cat back I took my truck to a muffler shop to have them install it. When they pulled it out of the shop the tips were so far under the truck you could just barley see them. I thought they were supposed to line up just like the stock ones, but these SO CALLED PROFESSIONALS screwed them up.(How, I have no idea) So I told them not to touch my truck anymore, and I went to another place and they couldn't believe the job they did. So they fixed me right up. I should have known something was up when the two guys opened the box and looked at each other like it was a Rubics Cube. Some people shouldn't be allowed near a vehicle with tools in there hands.

You are a nice guy, you only went off half ****ed. If they did that to my Lightning they would have to dispatch 2 Emergency Vehicles, a ambulance for the guy who left the tips like that, and a cop car for me. Sorry to babble on but doing that to any Lightning is just plain wrong especially after providing a picture.
I have seen worse looking exhaust

Wholly smokes!!!! I just got off our Chemicals turnaround, been working some monster hours. I didn't realize so many responded.

I have been waiting for some time off so I could post an update on this situation.

First thanks to all that responded I really appreciate the support, you guys ROCK!!

He actually called me at work and told me he was sorry for the whole incident and he wanted to make it right. This was without me having to take any action against him, I was very relieved about that. I have been doing business with this guy since I moved to Corpus and his craftsmanship has always been top notch, that is why I was so shocked at the final result and his attitude.

As far as the quality of welding and supports, it was outstanding. I could stand on the tips and they probably wouldn't budge. He told me that when I lost my cool it scared the hell out of him and that is why he called CCPD. To be honest if he hadn't ran to his office I probably would have stretched his *** out and that would have cost me my job. So maybe it all worked out for the best.

The final resolution is he is going to position the tips just like I specified and refund half my money. I accepted his offer and told him that I very much appreciate him standing behind his work.

If he doesn't hold up his end of the bargain I will be posting his info and then Lord help him!

Thanks again for all of the support. The force of the L community is strong!
