Went to the track for the first time in my life... Disappointed

Well I finally made it to a track. It was about 68 degrees and was a nice day to be there. Well it didn't start off well, but I really eased into my first two runs... Idle launch and didn't stomp it, but my race program was running lean in first and second, but super safe in drive. I then switched to my second program and it the same problems, but not to the extreme. I think I may have a a problem in my computer itself, but I have a call into my tuner. What was weird, was that tonight, I didn't have the problem at all... Very weird. Well back to the track. Here was my best and I was on Nitto street tires at 23 psi.

r/t---------0.654
60ft-------1.964
330ft------5.430
1/8--------8.296
1/8mph---85.15
1000ft----10.810
1/4--------12.931
1/4mph---106.53

I was very disappointed by this, but are these numbers, just because of the street tires. I started getting comfortable and was launching with at 1300 rpm's, and I think I could have gotten it a little lower, but I guess I need slicks or d/r's... Opinions??? Comments?????

I'll take the bait on a reply!

I have a kb L and make 476/537 I put down on the track 1.8 60's on nitto streets and a 12.4 @109. But I have a slipping belt and can't get traction.

all i'm saying is check the tune and your truck with the hp should be running High 11's

Drop the Nitto's down to 16 and heat them real well and I'm sure your times will get better! With that much HP I would expect low 12's!!

If you're only turning 106 mph trap speed, something is big time wrong. That trap speed is more for like a 390 rwhp truck, not a 460 rwhp truck. Check your plugs would be the first step.

Stop manual shifting, that's retarded. I'll assume you were since you said it was lean in 1, 2, and worked well in drive.

But like sal says, 12.9 @ 106 is way off for trap, not to mention ET, was it breaking up?? Falling over?? Stop for lunch at the 1/8th?? With around 390 rwhp I went 12.8@108/9.

Also whoever went 12.4 @109 with 476, that's a low trap for that power.

I make less than that, and weigh in at 5,100lbs with an apten eaton and I'm trapping 111+.

I AM NOT MANUALLY SHIFTING, WHERE DID I EVER SAY THAT... The vehicle itself starts in first, shifts to second, and then shifts into drive and then overdrive, just not when you are at the track. When I say 1st, 2nd, Drive, I am talking about the actually grear the tranny is in while it is running.

I am starting to think, I have a block problem... I got some strange leakdown/compression numbers about six months ago, but I was told from numerous people that they weren't possible, but now I am thinking they were right... I am going to look at the plugs and redo the leakdown and compression tests on wednesday... I think my monetary life is about to suck big time.

My bad chief, most people say 1st, 2nd, 3rd....

When you say 1, 2, drive, I assume you are manually shifting, as I stated before.

my bad, I just figured since OD was 4th, I would call 3rd D. This sucks, I know I will need a block... Sad thing is, it drives just fine, but I guess that will just give me some time save a little...

You might consider sticking it back on the dyno. If it is still making the right numbers, the block is probably ok.

My tuner is one of the best in the country... Starting to think my block is done... I bet my compression and leakdown numbers will be painful...
