Thumbs down Moroso is truly not there for racers.....

They block off the staging lanes an hour and a half before they are supposed to close. God forbid they actually let the racers get in line until closing time.

Tonight, they sent a bunch of racers home by closing down a little early stating "it's too cold." Too cold for what!? They clearly threw the remaining racers under the bus, who waited about two hours for that pass they never got.

When I left there, my outside temperature reading at 80 MPH on Beeline Hwy read a whopping 51 degrees. These a**holes hate their job, don't like cars, don't like the atmosphere, and wish they were anywhere else but at the race track.

I remember running my Mustang in 12/2003 on a night it was 38-40 degrees out. How come it wasn't too cold back then?

If it wasn't that it is the only drag track (1/4 mile that is) around (around is a relative term), I would have wished that one of those hurricanes wiped them off the map (mainly because of their attitude).

We need a race track "of the racers, by the racers, and for the racers." This nonsense of the way they run things neeeds to stop. If some competition would ever move in, I'll bet we would be more appreciated.

We got junk.

I have spent time at Moroso over the years as well, and it does seem that they couldnt give a s*** about the racing side of their business. That is exactly why I will never give them a dime of my money.

I guess we are kinda lucky up here with our tracks. But, when you have nice tracks, itbrings out the imports

Never been to Moroso, but spent alot of time at Bradenton with a drag bike. Those were the days

Moroso is horrible. I miss Miami sometimes and gainesville is a bit podunk, but having Gainesville Raceway right here is really really nice

HI!... Just be glad you have a track near by to go to. I have to drive 2 hours + to get to our closest Canadian track. Or I have to go to another country (U.S) and it's still almost a 1 hour drive.

I agree, Moroso is terrible. They really don't maintain the track well. I went there in the summer time. I was like one of the first to go in the staging lanes. But they didn't start on time like they were suppose to. They waited for the rain to slowly roll in. Which it did. Then they called off midnight madness, kicked everyone out of the park with no refunds. Awesome way of doing business

I have also been there when they have done the (on more than one occassion) and it's true, they seem to wait for, and welcome the rain so they can close.

They don't give refunds, but you can present your ticket for the next similar event and you will be allowed in. It's just so obvious that they don't like being there.

How many of us would care if "RACING" went an hour or two overtime?

Be glad?? I have to drive 100 miles each way to get there, and with traffic it's usually 1.75-2.0 hours each direction.

We have the same problem in Dallas, TX. The closest track (Texas Motorplex, Ennis... south of Dallas) is a horrible atmosphere to run your street car.

So I drive 150 miles each way to race in NE Texas. Sorry to hear your only choice is not a good one.

Hey Gator, What track do you go to besides E-town? They usually suck - bad track prep/ techs who dont want to get off their a$$'s and of course way too many ricers screwin up the track itself!

not that im bitter or anything

Track Pros & Cons

I race at E-Town which is a good facility, but has bad traction.
I race at Atco which is a good facility, has good traction, but they've treated the average racer kinda chitty at times.
I race at Cecil, down home kinda track, GREAT TRACTION, because of GREAT TRACK PREP. And they don't steal your money and send you packin' before you've had several good runs.
I guess the dragstrips across the country are like everything else, some are good, and some are bad. Overall, I'll have to admit that we've got a pretty good choice of strips here in the East, so I'm happy to live and race here.

Not to mention that quite often you guys get negative density altitude readings. One of those tracks up in the NE is downhill, too. I've seen video. At a least 5^ downhill grade.

But there is no doubt, the fastest times by and large are recorded at those tracks in the northeast.

cry me a river!

I parked my lightning 5 months ago!

BTW: Miloc's Fall 2003 race was cut short, becuae it started snowing. I was at the end of the track with SLICKS on and it started snow/sleet.
Not the safest thing in the world.

They took EVERY track away from us here in NY $@*&#$@$*#&
frigging builders and rich people *@%(&@#$^%(@#$%$

I'd settle for anything, my choice is 500 miles round trip to Cecil,
or 300 round trip to Eng Town. The only reason I bother making the trip these days is to WHOOP GATORS BUTT

Be glad you got SOMETHING, the track we had was the pitts, but I'd take it back ANY DAY
