should i wait till it blows or get one now

I was thinking about getting a built block for my 2001 lightning. Should i just wait till my motor blows or get one before it blows? Also, if i was to get aftermarket cams, would it still be as good as a daily driver?

I have JDM stage II cams on a stock block and you reallly cant tell they are there except the idle and when you get on it. My truck is a daily driver.

call jlp and see if he will give you the new years special $3,400 short block and have him install some ported heads. then get the cams also. the price will be about 6,800 delivered and core charges. then sell your running motor and baam your smokin

Use your crank and block. Get H-Beam rods and good pistons, and save yourself a bunch of money on the parts you were still able to re-use since you didn't blow them up. Our motors come with a decent crank. The block is strong enough.

Build it before it blows....then you could recover some costs by selling the stock one...

Ok so say i buy the block first. How long can it sit in my garage for? What i mean is, if it just sits there, can anything bad happen to it, like surface rust or anything?

They made a pretty noticeable difference. I was similar to when I went from say stock to a 4lb pulley, it doesn't stop pulling until it shifts, its awesome.
