Blowing Fuses after Converter Install
Blowing Fuses after Converter Install
Got a good one for you guys,
So I just had an Art Carr 2400 Stall converter put in by a FORD dealership and when I get her back the converter seems to be shifting good but I keep blowing a fuse.
Before I run back to the dealership I want to try to troubleshoot to see if it's something simple.
The fuse I keeping blowing is the #5 fuse in the driver's side panel, it controls cruise control and climate control stuff.
Now get this, while monitoring this 15Amp fuse with a multimeter she blows whenever I move the gear shift from Park to Reverse.....
I've checked a couple wiring connections on the transmission case, the TR (sensor) and the (TSS) sensor. I see no crushed wires or anything.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Thanks!

Many have found the wire harness resting on the exhaust pipe.
Also the shifting unit is on the driver side of the truck directly under the driver side door. Look on the driver side of the tranny there is a black plastic position sensor unit with a linkage cable coming off of it. See if the cable is making contact with any part of the wire harness.
Suavy
