Max Boost ?

Hey everybody I need some help here. I was told that you can only run 15 lbs of boost on a stock 2001 motor. If I amped it up more it would snap my crank at the neck. Is this true? Has anyone heard of this? Thanks .

From my reading and talking to people,
I don't believe the crank is the problem. The rod's are a different story, 450rwhp seem's to be the max for them. Rob02 was putting out over 500rwhp and never blew!! I'm putting out 12 psig boost and have numerous 1/4 mile runs and haven't blown but I'm only at 387rwhp (dyno), I think they are just a tool for measuring change, the actual benefit is in the 1/4 mile times)
I'm sure someone with a more knowledgable level could explain better.
I'm believing more and more that it's all in the tune!!

With a properly tuned truck you can run 16# of boost

You won't snap your crank running over 15# of boost. The stock crank will hold up to well over 800 hp. It is the conecting rods that are the week link in our engines.
