Question Final Verdict on Brake Pads?

So, I'm searching for new brake pads to go with. I've looked at about every thread in the searches and I still can't decide. Currently I have stock rotors and Napa Ceramix pads.

I'm torn between going back to stock pads, Hawk HPS pads, or another set of Ceramix. The napa pads have lasted a good 25-30K or so. The only reason I was looking at other set of replacement pads is because I think they have warped my rotors. I get an extreme shuddering/vibration when braking.

I am most likely going to puchase those nice new dimpled/slotted rotors from ebay and I'm not sure what pad to go with.

From my searches I've found that:

Hawk HPS - lots of brake dust, squeling noise?
Stock - more noise, not as good stopping power?
Ceramix- minimal brake dust, but warp rotors over time?

Any input would be great or any other alternatives. This is my daily driver, I make it to the track about 5 times a year at most.

Thanks guys,

Jon

The choose is up to you.If you can live with having to wash your wheels when you wash your truck then the hawks are the way to go.but if you just wash the truck and not the wheels then stay with the ceramix.sTan

Where is the best place/price to get the Hawk pads?
The only place I found them for was $64 for the fronts, $55 for the rears. Is that a pretty good price.

What are some other peoples opions?

I have Stan's rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I'm still alive because of it. Ceramix cost me 1 Genuine 2001 Ford SVT Lightning, build 3661. I'll take dust over airbag burns and a totaled vehicle any day.

Go to NLOC, Supporting Vendors and RUSLOW performance. He sells them and vented rotors too.

I've recently searched/read every thread for the same reason. I changed to Napa Ceramix at 50k miles, up to 76k now. While there's less wheel cleaning I'm not happy with the brake performance and rotor wear/damage.

I don't recall any brake noise with the stock set of pads, until they wore out.

If it's a daily driver and sees no open track events why should one go with a different friction material than OEM?

With the weight of the our trucks I would stay away from ceramic pads. They will just eat up the rotors.

Now what kind of attitude is that for the Master of Pain?
