Installed Accufab Throttle Body
Installed Accufab Throttle Body
Well today i installed the accufab throttle body on my truck that has; an apten, a c&l Intake, 4lb, yada yada rest in the sig. Anyhow, i just thought i'd comment on the results i felt after switching over from the stock throttle body. The truck feels much more responsive, is quicker to react at low throttle, feels quicker to jump up. Just food for thought to anybody thats running the apten and the c&l, i think the stock throttle body was proving to be quite a restriction for me. As for power, i cant say i felt a power increase because thats imposssible, but i can say the truck is much smoother sounding, and feeling all the way up to redline. It proved to be worth the install on my truck, I'll be getting power numbers later on this month. Also, is it normal to be at 16.5lbs w/ my combo? The boost gauge is adjusted correctly.
That's tip-in throttle response, it has to do with the area of opening of the one big blade compared to two smaller blades when just slightly opening the throttle. It has no relation to overall restriction at WOT, but it does feel cool!
I dont know about power increases, but i def. feel as if the stock throttle body was holding me back w/ the apten and the c&l. Truck certainly feels better and much more smooth throughout the rpm range. So maybe its a good mod for those running high boost levels and a larger upper intake. Felt worthwhile on my truck.
boost
if your guage is adjusted correctly.........replace it. You aren't getting that amount of boost off a 4lb lower. I don't care what other mods you have. I can see 13, even 14 but not 16.
Yes, the t/b does make a difference. Here's a tip, before you tighten it to the plenum, open the blade and put your fingers in there and align the openings in the plenum and the bore of the t/b. It will cut down on the annoying hissing sound.
