The link works perfect for me. I've watched it three times and I love it until Jay passes me. I always have trouble on the long strait with the truck not running right. Cliff has said he has the same problem. I should be around 140 going into turn one (when it does not miss) but most of the time I can just get to 130 because of the missing. If I lift off the gas and feed it back in slowly it will run perfect but as you can see by the way Jay passed me it kills my speed down the front stretch. The funny part is this is the only place on the track that it does this. It also does the same thing at MSR and their is no banking. I've tried new plugs, fuel filter, all four settings on my chip and except at the track it never misses a beat!

Hardwareman,
I have almost every twisties mod money can buy except IRS. I'm putting down 435 H/P at the rear wheels but at the track I run on my towing setting at 405 H/P.

I could always outrun Jay at the track with him in his Mach 1 until this time when he was on race rubber (I've always been on race rubber). This day he ate my lunch! Jay is a damn good driver.....he was when he was ten years old........but he's not as good as his old man! Can you imagine thinking it's a big deal to out run a truck on a road course? That's ok when I get the C6 he will be toast. I love my son but I'm going to spank his a$$ in the Vette.

Pretty neat video. What kind of times were you running?

I've been around TWS many times on my bike. Got down to 1:59.2. I think I would shoot myself if I had to do it in a car and get stuck behind a brigade of miata's. On the bikes you can pass anywhere and everywhere, and there's a whole lote more room on the track when your only 2 feet wide!

No excuses....you whipped my but. The pass down the front streatch is a bit over done though. As you know we are supposed to lift when being passed in the passing zones so that the pass can be made way before the next turn. Your Mach can't touch my L in a drag race and you and everyone here knows it. You did not beat me in the strait....you whipped my rear in the carousel and the S's........in fact you whipped me in those two spots badly! That is part of the reason you went by so fast when you passed me. Your exit speed out of the S's was great. If you look at tun two and then turns eight and nine before the carousel you willl see a truck pulling away from you. That's gotta hurt!

LOL

Just don't post that on mach1registry.org's forums, most of those guys swear they have the fastest car out there and it'll whip up on 03/04 cobras, zo6s, lightnings and just about everything else. Erin keeps saying how that site is going down hill, lots of big-headed/stuborn people popping up.

I have never met Mike, but we talk on AIM every once in a while.

What color is your L? I have probably seen it around. I drive the black mach with the silver stripes.

So Jer,

what's the verdict on the QA1's ? Dayum I wish I lived far enough
south to be racing all winter !!!

Actually, some of the PAUSE on the straights was tracked to
DRIVER ERROR ... I missed the Overdrive button coming outta the
turns ... We need a BIG RED SHIFT light hooked up to that thang

PS... It sure was nice of you to slow down enough for your
son to take that rocking video ... LOL

Cliff,

Since I have the Vette on order most of the mods are coming off. I may pull the QA-1's off this weekend. I only ran them for eight twenty minute sessions and I did not really notice that much difference from the Rouch shocks but I only tried two adjustments so if I had known what to do I may have noticed a big difference. I'm only going to do two more events before I get the Vette and I'll just do them on the Roush shocks. I think Edward wants to buy the QA's but if not and you are interested e-mail me at jjordan@picofab.com

I thought you told me you were having the same problem I was with the truck not wanting to go on the long straits. Mine is not really a miss....more like a whole bunch of timing is being pulled or fuel starvation (and yes I've pulled the fuel filter and made sure the tank was full with no change). Even with a trans cooler my trans temps get over 250 (even in these cooler months). I wonder if the PCM is pulling timing when the trans gets too hot? The only thing I don't understand is that this only happens after the first two or three laps (then it happens every lap) and only on long straits.

Rich,

You are correct. The best part about this is the time I get to spend with my son!

Thanks for asking Rick,

The Vette is a 05 C6. Artic White with red interior, six speed, Z51 package (engine, trans and power stearing coolers, larger brakes, larger anti-sway bars and Supercar tires....ouch). All the other options are for girls....no offence to any females here) but who needs GPS nav, heads up display, XM radio (that I already have) and other crap that I can add for a fraction of the price of buying it already in the car? The price with all the goodies list for over $54,000.00 and the one I'm getting that will run just as fast, corner just as well and stop exactly the same list for $47,410.00!!!!

On the L I have 35,680 miles, Roush lowering kit, ported blower by Apten, LFP e-fan, PSP four position chip, four lb lower pulley, Ruslow underdrive pulleys, Kooks long tube headders with high-flow cats (in fact they are total-flow cats right now as all the guts have blown out) Pan-hard bar, QA-1's all around, Hellwig antisway bars, Harness bar and five point harness, big brake kit, and a spare set of wheels and race rubber (the rubber may be gone before I sell the truck). I'm not sure what it's worth but I would think $24,000.00 without the mods (except the Roush kit and the ported blower that I will not remove) would be a good starting point. If someone wanted the truck with all the mods I would have to have at least $26,000.00! The big brake kit alone is worth $800.00 to $1000.00 used and I have all kinds of pads to go with it. We will see. I can sell around mid April as I will have another vehicle I can drive until the Vette comes in. The truck makes 435/415 on the race position on the chip and 405/501 on the towing setting!
