Talking Proud new owner of '01 Lightning

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I've posted in the past once or twice but never as an owner of one of these incredible trucks.

Just picked it up last night, it's an '01 with 30,000mi on the clock. I absolutely love it. I'm coming off of an '02 Focus and obviously I'm very happy to have traded up.

Quick pic from last night when I got it home, I'll update after I spray the wheels dark grey and get it waxed up this weekend.

I'll see all you Austin area L owners at the Whataburger this week

Thanks!

It's really in incredible shape, everything is showroom fresh, I got pretty lucky in that regard.

I can't wait to get some stuff done to it, it's already bugging me that the windows aren't tinted and that it rides at stock height. Thinking about a mild drop in the near future. Either the Roush or Hotchkiss kit, not decided yet.

I don't think I'm going to do too much performance wise for a while though, I want to save up a good chunk of change and do it all the right way, the first time, all at once.

Nice looking ride. From the pictures, that thing looks like it's in really good shape. Since everybody wants to know, I'll ask. How much? Good luck with the truck.

wow another local Lightning

where did you pick that one up from? what area of Leander? Use to see a ton of Ls around, heard of some family that had like 7 or 8 Lightnings within their family. My wife & I actually saw a trailer home one day with 6 of them in front of it so we figured that was them, have since seen only 2-3 Ls and handful of Dodge Rams now anytime we've been by there.

Hope the weather holds off saturday, there is a mustang&lightning shootout up at TempleAcademy Dragway that afternoon, I'm gonna try and make it out there. Not sure what time it'll wrap up (7,8?)but will be going by 1431/Home Depot afterwards.

if you have not already, swing into www.austinsvt.com

Thanks!

I paid $20,900 and they gave me $8000 trade on my Focus, a bit more than what I owed on it.

I hope to see you there, I've swung through the meet before in my Focus but I didn't park because well, it didn't really deserve to be there. There are some seriously hot vehicles over there, yours included.

I distinctly remember the gorgeous white L with color matched badges dropping my jaw the last time I drove by. Your truck was one of the last straws in my decision to get one.

I'll definitely drop by austinsvt, thanks for the link I would never have thought to look for something like that.

Looks great Bootbox!

I've got a red L with no tinted windows and stock height too. I will be fixing that soon enough though.

Wish I would have found a deal like yours when I was looking for mine. I ended up buying new because there were no good clean used L's around.

Have fun with it.

It's nice to see another Lightning owner. Red does look good. I was driving by my grandmothers house last weekend and looked in her driveway and there was a new Red 04 Lightning. I stoped to see who was driving it,because there aren't very many Lightnings around here. So I go in and my uncle that lives in TEN.that I haven't seen in a while was the one driving it. He told me he went to the dealership and wanted a two wheel drive truck and the salesman said i've got just what you need, and the next thing you know he bought a new red Lightning. He didn't know i had one, and he didn't even know what a Lightning was or SVT.After I told him all about them, I still don't think he knows and understands what he has. I wonder how many people own Lightnings and don't really know what they have?
