What is my truck worth?
What is my truck worth?
I have a guy that WANTS my truck. I was thiking about selling it but don't know what to ask for it. NADA says 19,350 trade and 22,275 average retail. Kelly Blue Book says 16,800 for private party value. I don't really care to sell it. But IF the money is right.
I wanted to ask other L lovers before I quoted a price.
It is a 99 L with 24,000 miles
A.R.E. bedcover with Fin
My mods are
2500 in audio equip.
+4 pound lower
Richards racing upper (stock size)
JDM cold air kit
FTVB 2CR
Clear corners
new tires
Rhino liner
Thanks

Keep in mind that NADA is usually high... silly high most of the time. It's used to pump up loan values. You can see the difference in the values you posted.
Kbb.com or Edmunds.com will let you see the prices that people actually pay. Then you need to find someone who pay for the audio and mods... which can be difficult or impossible.
Good luck!

NADA is way off the charts on this one. No way you'll get $20-21k, I don't care if its still in the plastic.
People can get low mileage '01-02s for that.
I had a very well kept '99 L that I traded last May. Granted, you'll make a little more in a private party sale, but the tax savings on a trade is nice and since I was buying an '04 L that came into play for me. Net was $16.6k. It had 44k miles on it and new tires. The mods were minimal, but tasteful, like yours.
I'd guess $18+k would be a good price for your truck (a very good deal for you considering KBB private party value). I'm sure its very nice... you're just up against newer trucks with the same mileage.
