Question call to shock therapy and ? about wheels

If anyone can tell me how to purchase the lower grill that matches
the HD chrome grill in the shock therapy pics I would greatly appreciate it. I love that look !

Also I am looking into new wheels 20" AR Torque Thrusters IIs
(alas..they will not sell me the ones with the chrome centers for the Lightning)
the AR rep said the reason that the chrome is only on the centersection is because of warpage.

I like the new 20" S/S Cragar (I'm ol school) as well but why can Cragar make a 20" chrome wheel and not American Racing ?

Will the Cragars hold up ?

Also is the ride on 20" that much harsher ?

If anyone wants to help out please advise proper combinations
20x8, 20x10 backspacing etc.

This is a wondeful site to help avoid wasting hard earned cash.

Last question..I've always loved a nice (lighter) shade of blue and
think that $3,500 will get the entire truck painted..any suggestions or comments if anyone has had their Lightning painted ? My best time on stock tires is 13.30 at US 66 Raceway.

Thanks

The AR website shows a chrome centered 20x10.

You could also go with the polished TTII wheel which you can Zoop or clearcoat like I did on my black L. I think it's a much better looking wheel than the Cragar for the L, but that is entirely my opinion. Should be old school cool either way. Unfortunately, I sold the wheels and sent the paperwork to the buyer so I can't help you with the backspacing. I purchased them @ Discount Tire.

I think a grabber blue on the L would look awesome! i recall seeing some pictures of Vinnie's truck with a grabber blue L a while ago....
for the lower grille, i think shock did the chrome wheel well molding. Less than 20 bucks, and just apply it to the slats in the lower grille. If you're not worried about being able to rotate all 4 tires, you may want to go with a 20x8 in front with a 275 tire and 20x10 in back with a 295 or even bigger tire... otherwise i wouldn't go anything less than 20x9 with 295s on all four corners

How does one Zoop or clear coat them. Have a painter spray a clearcoat ? etc. Not familiar with the process.
Your Lightning looks terrific and I have to ask did you buy new for a reason or did you just go for a performance type tire instead of 20 " looks ?

Someone told me that you can "purchase" a custome grill from a company that matches up with the HD (FORD) chrome grill. I would perfer to do that if I can find out who the company was.

You can spray aluminum with clearcoat, you can powder coat aluminum with clear, and some folks swear by Zoop .

The tires were (past tense, because that '01 L and mods are sold) 295/40/20 Dunlop 9000s which are not my favorite tire. My current L is running Pirelli Scorpions, which I prefer for ride and traction. Don't want to start a big bruhaha about 20s here, but I think they just look good on an L. Fill the wheel well a little better than 18s.

My current '04 L with Halibrand 20s:

Anyone on f150online use Zoop..? it looks very interesting
I could polish my bike wheels and apply using one Zoop kit for both TTIIs and the bike.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I used some chrome wheel molding from the local auto parts store and applied it to my stock lower grill. A roll was about $10.

the chrome mold would not fit my 99 (honeycomb) ..might as well get the real deal but I don't think the J-Jent will fit my L correctly
my lower grill is different than a HD they show in both pics.

J-jent doesn't show the Lightning model on the website... but they make it... just give them a call and ask.
