Re: YUP

All i'm saying is a newbie reading that might think that going with the REM tune and a 4lb lower, his is going to run 12.4's. [/B]
Translation;

A newbie may actually call someone other than JDM to get his tune and mods done.

Local guy runs 12.40's here with a 4lb lower and another less known tuners tune so whats the big deal?

There are other tuners out there tallimecca.

You ask me..... ,is it a good place to get parts, yes! But before i get reamed it is only my opinion and one experience i know of.

1fst54, please give us the actuall timing he was set at.

Personally, I always "stick a little in my pocket". A few gallons of some high octane will go a long way as some added insurance against detonation.

All he has done is a 4lb lower & a tune? thats it? No other mods whatsoever?
Drag radials are a mod, holes in the airbox are a mod, etc....

The point tallimecca was trying to get across is that wydopnthrtl had more than just 2 mods (4lb & chip).

I'm betting your local friend has more than a 4lb & chip.

WTF

There are other tuners out there tallimecca.
No ****, so why don't your re read what this post is about you friggen wing ding. This has nothing to do with tuner vs tuner. I was just making the point that the way the post sounded that this guy was gonna bolt on a 4lb pulley and call Rem.........or any tuner for that matter and run 12.4's. I have nothing against REM and have stated many times to people inquiring that i've heard nothing but good things about REM. One of my buddies got taken care of by them with some predator tunes in a pinch and ran his best dyno numbers on their tunes.

I'm not the only one that read it this way obviously, thats why I posted.

So instead of trying to turn this into some kind of tuner war or anti JDM post, why don't you try to think of something to add to the community rather than looking for trouble as usual

My first post said the following.

I've heard Lots of Great things about REM. I use JDM for my tuning myself, but to each their own.

Later,

Don

And guess what , it had too much timing. melted a piston. You asking if it was the tuning and he says no, he some how says it something not even involved in the equation of the part that failed.

Before you flame someone, I suggest that you have more than unclear and unconvincing hearsay to back you up. Were you there when your "friend" had the alleged incident? Did you have an expert analyze the true facts of the occurrence. I hope for your sake that you know what you are talking about because your statement may be actionable. I suggest you stick to reporting your own, first hand experience. Just my opinion.

Ok guys thanks for your help. I was trying to see if REM would be a good place to get a tune. I do not want to blow a motor.
I wanted to add my own 4# pulley and CAI from LFP and then get a safe tune from somone close to me ( south florida} Thanks again. Fred

My statement maybe "actionable" Was I there when it blew up Yes! Not for the tuning. Did I have a certified mechanic tell me his thoughts, Yes!

Not a Flame, just answer in my OPINION on a tuner in my area. Would I trust you .... I mean trust him with my truck , well NO!

If someone on this board ask for an opinion it is my right to tell how I feel about this shop credibility. For it being actionable, I think not, my be in your opinion!
