diablo chip questions

I have some questions please about the diablo flip chip.

From what I understand from the person who put the chip and pulley (and other mods) in is..

I have three choices.. Stock, 4# Tune with cylinders cut on the shift (in street pos.), 6# Tune. without cylinders cutting out on the shift (in strip pos.)

Since I don't know EXACTLY which position is the street due to mixed input.. I leave it on the 4# tune which is 'in the middle'. The truck has the Metco 4# pulley installed on it right now and with the cold conditions outside I see upwards of 14psi total

Q1: Does anyone know for sure which position the diablo switch goes in for Strip mode so I can run it if I need to.

Q2: Would it be a smart Idea to run the 6# mode even though I got the 4# pulley on the bottom BUT being that it's colder I am making almost 6# more boost..

I would rather be safe than sorry even if I lose performance.

Q3: When you switch to a "tune" you also change the non-WOT fuel table too right?? I mean the two tunes this chip has should also affect non-WOT.

Q4: What changes exactly when they "custom tune" to your mods.. Is it just a richer fuel table for WOT.. What would happen if I ran it on the 'STOCK' mode + having a pulley.. Would I blow it up??

Q5: When someone gets a "custom tune" they are doing it for performance OR for engine safety?? OR both??

Q6: Is the cutting out of a few cylinders on the shift bad? Or is it easier on the trans.. I don't see how it cuts anything at all being that my shifts are split second fast. I haven't ran it in 6# mode though to know because I don't know which position the 6# mode is

thanks.. I am just confused on how the whole tuning thing works and what happens if you change between tunes while keeping the boost the same., etc., etc.

Thanks in advance

Throw the Chip away and get a Diablo Sport Predator Tuner.

Does your chip have a switch and a small light with a red and green setting? If it's like my DiabloSport...the center position is stock and it has to be started in that position to actually be "stock." Now, I don't know about with a 4 or 6 # pully. I guess it would return the fuel curves/timing to "stock" even considering the pulleys. On mine the red (upper) position is the most aggressive tune with the lower (green) position being the milder tune. You can flip from red to green or visa versa while it's running. I guess it's just a matter of how the chips tuner programmed it. I would thing that you would be safe for this colder weather in the "stock" position until you can iron everything out....only my guess though!

Dude keep your chip. Yea the predator is better, but there is nothing wrong with using a chip. Diablo chips are very simple. In the absence of a LED light indicator (which a lot of Diablo chips didn't come with) you will have to look at the base of the toggle switch to see which side has a groove cut in it. The center position is your 1st performance tune. The toggle switch toward the groove cut on the mounting threads should be your 2nd performance tune. With it toggled to the opposite side of the grooves that would be your stock tune. If you have any other questions you can ask Chris at Diablo on THIS FORUM

Good luck.
