Thumbs up Goodbye L!

Well I finally sold my stock L...couldn't stand the oil consumption, the transmission slipping, the hard starting, and the dealer incompetence/indifference. This is a great board; I just wish Ford built a better product. Last Ford I ever buy. Good luck everyone!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Every company has lemons here and there but it only takes one to steer you away.

Good luck.

Maybe he should try Chevy, I'm sure he'll be real happy..... oh wait, no he won't. That's right, I forgot that chevy sucks *** for a second there. Oh man. Anyhow, I hope his next car treats him better.

Maybe his mom finally asked him to start paying rent and he had to sell the L.

Best of luck to you.

It's funny, I flip-flop on my Lightning all the time. Some days/weeks/months I love it, and others I want to sell it.

I think its mostly b/c I totaled my daily driver (not my fault) and now I am forced to drive the L all the time, and I hate the milage and seeing the it covered in salt/dirt this winter.

Sorry to hear a longtime member as yourself is cashing in. i've been lucky (i guess), with my 99 and 03, no dealer trips or problems at all since 99. is that a record, or something?

I just traded in my 03 sonic blue for an 02 harley, family reqired more room than the L could give. Maybe when Iam done paying for this I can buy a good used L, OR MAYBE ford will bring out gen 3

Sorry to see you go and be so down on Ford in general. You really shouldn't be sour on a whole brand due to one bad vehicle or a bad dealer. As you have heard from many others on these forums, these are really awesome trucks. You can also see that at times people have problems. Read on any other forum for what ever car, and you'll find the same thing. I really only had one problem with my L in 15 months, and I think that's pretty decent.

I'm also going to be keeping an eye out for a clean Harley truck so I can fit the whole family. The L just wasn't cutting it for my family of four.

Hate to see people subtly (or not) ******* you for selling the L. We've all had bad experiences with our rides, and it can be miserable when you have a lemon. I don't blame you - you gotta do what makes you happy. Hopefully we'll see you on here again in the near future with an L that feels right for you. Best wishes.

Not quite...I worked my way through college and med school, am in my 12th year as an officer in the military, and will probably be deploying sometime soon, and have owned 11 vehicles...so I think I can take care of myself...although not having to pay rent would be sweet!

Don't get me wrong, I give kudos to the ones who developed and designed the L...it's an awesome truck, with power, good looks, and utility...I just don't like the way my truck turned out. I took care of it, never took it to the track, never towed or hauled with it, and it developed lots of problems. And the dealer didn't help. If I were gonna mod it, I woulda kept it, since it was all drivetrain issues, but I wanted it for it's stock factory performance.

This is a great board with lots of smart people; I'll probably lurk around for a while, since I'm always rooting for the L...I can't wait to see the first 8 second L! I wonder who will get there first?

Somebody that can take a little ribbing like yourself had better hang around.

I know the L is gone but did you ever take it to another dealer?
