? on 90mm mass air flow sensor for 99-00 L
I just got the Diablosport Predator. My 2000 Lightning already had pullys when i bought it.. not sure what pullys... I just know they had changed the upper and lower which now gives me 14lbs of boost. I am now interested in getting a 90mm mass air sensor since the predator has a tune for pully/90mm. Could you guys give me some information to help me choose the brand of sensor to get? The only other engine mod i've done to my truck is i installed a AEM Brute Force air intake.
I have the AEM Brute Force intake as well. It is curently laying in its box on the garage floor. The reason is that the AEM has an I.D. of 100mm where the MAF sensor mounts.
In my case (2001 L) the computer thinks the MAF sensor is in the stock 90mm I.D. tube and thus is calibrated for that. I put the AEM on my truck and it made my truck run leaner than normal. Because more air is getting into the motor than the computer knows about. I checked this at the dyno.
In your case your stock MAF sensor tube is 80mm I.D. So now you have a sensor that thinks it's measuring 80mm I.D. worth of air when it's really in a 100mm I.D. tube.
I waiting to a get a tune to recalibrate my computer to correctly handle the 100mm I.D. tube.

Be very careful with the tunes that come in the Predator. Many people blew their motors by running on the "pulley tunes" with pulleys. Most found that the non pulley tune worked OK with pulleys on.
You really need to have a dyno tune to make sure your A/F's stay where they belong. The choice is yours. It's your money that'll be paying for the new block.

Only buy a Ford OEM 90mm MAF.
Don't buy some tube and put the electronics and sensor in it! Talk to your tuner before you do something like that!
You really don't have an advantage of a 90mm over a 80mm.

I am getting some pingging at WOT with the pully tune. which is better than before i got the tune. my truck would bogg out at WOT with just the pullys and no tune. sux guess i need to find a dyno...
