hypertech programmer
hypertech programmer
I have a hypertech programer for my 2000 Lightning but I do not think it adjusts timming, fuel mixture & shifting (as well as possible). Whats the difference between power modules or other chips. I'm looking for a little more performance. It did let me change rev limiter, shift points, but thats about all I noticed
Personally I recommend getting a live dyno tune. They make changes and can measure realtime what effect it has. It goes a long way to getting you dialed in. It cost's more.. but you know exactly where your are on power and how safe the tune is.
Also, worth noting is that since you have a 2000 model (assuming with some fair amount of milage).. you'll get a reall good feel for how the truck is over all. For instance a tuner will know within minutes if your making the power you should. Kinda like going to the doctor and doing a stress test. He knows instantly what shape your in and what to prescribe.

Hypertech= MAJOR GARBAGE..Throw it into before you blow you motor. Purchase a Predator or a SCT9100 handheld unit form a supporting vendor and it come with a custom tune tailored to you specific mods. That will get you in the right direction. Then go it dyno tuned.
Do a search for Predator or SCT 9100 and you will fine all the info you will ever need.
