I got hit!!

Old man runs a red light, while I was in motion for a left hand turn.

Im fine, but I believe the old man was having problems breathing, so the paramedics took them to the local hospital.

My question is: If it is repairable, and they fix the damages, it now makes the truck lesser in value if i try to sell it correct?
Its one of those things where if it can be fixed, im sure it will never be the same. Its like having a girl break your heart, yeah its repairable, but she'll never be the same and neither will I.

OUCH!!!

John
That must have been a heck of a whack to pop the bags. Was it a side impact? It doesn't look like the front bumper was hit so hopefully there is no frame damage. Glad that you weren't damaged.

Yeah, I guess so. It didnt jar me around or anything like that. There were no skid marks left from the old mans car. So im sure it was a full speed impact.

I'm hoping that there is not any frame damage.

I cant agree more with that statement. Take your time-ask around and find the best place to take your truck. It can make all of the difference!!!!!

Oh man, sorry to see that I would see how much damage is done and make sure there is no damage to the engine or frame. If there is I would suggest looking for a new Lightning...

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I used to be an Insurace Adjuster. Was the other party charged with the accident? And, did he have insurance? If so, make them ALSO pay you the difference between the before and after value which can be determined by an independant appraiser (NOT an insurance appraiser either) Plus loss of use!! Or, if you don't feel comfortable with repairing it (as I wouldn't) and it's not considered a total loss, determine the salvage value and consider the repair cost + the depreciation and loss of use during the repair period and you may come out better that way and selling the salvage yourself. In the mean time, you'll want to determine the replacement cost yorself and not rely on what the insurace company indicates it is according to the book...which shouldn't apply in the case of a special vehicle. Good Luck!

Another adjuster here.

You can claim diminution of value (depreciation from being on the record books as being involved in an accident). I believe that you would have to have an independent appraiser for that amount, plus be willing to go to Court (hopefully small claims to not need an atty).

On repairs, I would insist on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM/Ford) parts for the best resale value, and have it repaired by a Ford dealer with a reputation for having a good body shop. That would leave the next buyer the most comfortable with buying a vehicle that was involved in an accident (IMO).

Good luck.
