With your given mods plus the zex, I would not rely on anything less than a 28" tall slick. I have ran drag radials and MT ET streets 28's. I have the mods you have except Im running a 6lb lower no nitrous. Having used the nittos I learned to launch them well but could still overpower them when I wanted. The ET streets have been moore constant and provided good launches. I would think you would over power the 26's with the given mods plus the nitrous. Some here have had good results with the 26's though, maybe they will chime in. I would go with 28's myself.

Slicks are by far better on the track over drag radials. I've had both and on slicks I pull 1.6's and high 1.7's with drag radials. That is on a good day for drag radials.

Good luck

Does gearing come into play when determining tire size used? 3:55's vs 3:73's

If you have the 3:55's should you go with 26's and if you have the 3:73's should you go with the 28's?

I know most lightning guys go with 28's, irregardless of year... so I'm guessing irregardless of gearing???

... that's just my guess tho

I'd say to not worry about that unless you're looking to be mid 11's or lower

Correct

I have seen a person that uses 26's with his 99 (3:55), loose almost 2 tenths by switching to 28's. This was done on the same night at the track....he had borrowed somebodies 28's just to see what would happen. He went back to his 26's that night and gained his time back.

no

even with the gearing difference, if you have significant power, you are gonna overpower the 26's.

As for the drag radials......the nittos are good. Some trucks hook better than others with them. I have them on my truck permanently for the street, but i thought they sucked at the track. They would spin way to easy if overpowered. Once they got spinning, there was no saving the run.

I would just run your street tires and throw a set of 28 hoosiers on there. If you need to run dots ........go with the quick time pros.
