Things NOT to do day before racing!!!
Well I decided to go to bradenton today since I haven't run the truck since Gainesville FFW last year. Saturday, I decided to do a brake job. Eberything went fine and I loaded up my tires, race gas and a few tools and left my house at 6:45 am for my 110 mile journey to the track. Dumped the race gas in, changed the blower pulley, put the bogarts on the front and went to put them on the back and the wheels would not turn. The new pads moved the caliper out enough that my damn wheels would not turn. I borrowed a file and worked on them for about an hour before I gave up and put my 20's back on. Well, since I got up real early on a sunday morning drove 110 miles and dumped $80 worth of race gas in my tank paid my admission and my sons and a friend, I went and got in line to run with my 20's.
1st run 2.041 60' 11.883 @ 123.86 I parked the truck and let it sit for a couple of hours and watched the races. I thought I would try it agin. Second run I did a little better on my 60' with
a 1.899 and ran 11.665 @ 123.91 I had gone to better my last years time of 10.90 and I think I would have done that had I been able to run my slicks. So if you run 15" bogarts and you do a brake job, make sure you check your clearances again!!!

So I got a phone call sunday on my cell phone, it was Mike telling me his bogarts didnt fit because he did a rear brake job and it moved the caliper out. So he was going to make a run on his 20's. So he called me after his first and second runs, he has ran 10.90's before then he switched over to our 108mm Power pipe and 60# injectors. I also emailed him some new tunes to see if we can get him down in the 10.70 ranges with more fuel and without hitting the 5 volts on the MAF. Congrats Mike on some killer passes on 20" rims and tires.

awesome runs Mike. And on 20's...that is smoking. I was out there on Thursday for the "Test and Tune". Couldn't brake into the 12's to save my life
And with over 400+ to the rear wheels I was mad as heck...especially on slicks. Come to find out...when I went in to pay my tech fees...I had the guy at the pump put in 1/4 tank of 100 octane. Well...he did...but put in 100 octane of LEADED and burned up my cats/O2 sensors.
NOTE TO SELF....never let someone else put YOUR gas in

Thanks Jim
I want to thank Jim and the rest of the crew @ JDM for taking the time to put up with me. Us old guys can be a pain the a** sometimes. I want to thank you for the great tunes you have email'd me and the great service and advice you have provided me with for the last couple of years. I asked for a daily driver 10 second truck and I have one. My truck runs just as smooth as it did the day I brought it home from the ford dealer. I think I may sell the truck this spring as I have a new mustang coming and I have not yet talked to Jim about it, but I want to make is a low 10 second daily driver.
