I having a problem with my trans sort of? I had a trans built and installed a 2,600 stall.
My question is that now my 1-2 shift a Light throttle ( under 10mph shift ) starts to shift soft like stock then shifts/clunks/falls firmly into gear. The more agressive that I'm on the throttle the more it acts like it should..nice and firm then at WOT it's perfect.
I was told that maybe it's the Main valve body? It was fine untill after the first track pass then it started doing this. I've put 1,500 miles on it and it seems to not be anyworse.
Any ideas?

I thought that was common with a stall convertor?
I don't have a stall and mine snaps the neck regardless of RPM with the FTVB.
I've driven Suavy's truck and his shifts real smooth at Low RPM's, real real soft. He has the Monster Box with FTVB and a stall. However when you race it, it shifts gear real hard.
I figured the stall that doesn't fully engage until 2600RPM's on your setup is simply slipping at low rpm shifts, they way it is designed to.

Cluod be just teh converter, could be the converter not locking completely and dropping the lockup (common on an aftermarket multi plate design, it's a flawed design) or could be any number of things in the Main Control or Accumulator. Is it one of my accumulators? If it got dirty, the 321 valve in the B bore could be hanging, if you have one of mine let me send you a replacement and see if it helps, if not we'll start looking for a bigger problem.

I've got the same problem but it shifts good and stiff into 2nd at WOT 4600+rpm then shifts out early on the 2-3 and like at 3600 rpm at WOT with the OD turned off
The tranny shifting early is killing my ET's and feels like the converter isnt locking up on the 2-3 under WOT?
2200 miles on a rebuild with a 2600 stall and shift kit
Need Help Please

It shifts 100% perfect @ WOT. The only problem is that the softer your on the GAS during the 1-2 shift the softer the shift gets and the "clunk" at the end of the shift is more noticable. It's not really a auidioable clunk.....You can jsut feel it fall into gear at hte end.
Get a pressure guage on it, it sounds like it's loosing line pressure, which could mean your pump is dying.
