not only will you get rid of detonation if you go to a tuner that is very familiar with lightnings, but you will also get all those extra ponies out of the truck, while yet being safe.

A dyno does not load the motor like the real world. Example: I was able to run 20 degrees timing @ WOT on the dyno, and in the real world, I get slight ping at 18 degrees. You gotta listen, and not assume everything's fine.

16 degrees is pretty safe for most trucks from what I've seen, yet makes very good power, not real far from your max power timing setting.

Good luck.

You could also get a conservative tune and an aggressive tune flip chip just in case you get some bad fuel or something.

Well, I'm bummed. Just did my first (partial) WOT run with the new Magnum Powers installed, and detonated. I was running JDM's mild summer tune program in 61 degree weather, and it pinged a few times before I got out of it. Damn... I was really hoping to avoid that.

Thoughts anybody? More spark or more fuel? I don't think I have too much timing with the mild tune, and I know 60 weather is not too cold. Even if I'm pushing 15-16 lbs of boost, I don't think it should have done that. Bet I'm too lean.

Anyone know of any good Lightning tuners in Texas (San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas...) that tune SCT?
