Whipple? Knocksensor
Whipple? Knocksensor
Sorry to ask this dumb question but I was pondering the advantages of that bolt on 2.3 Whipple for my otherwise stock 04.
If the Whipple set up is so much quieter and makes less heat blah, blah, blah is there a chance we could start using the knock sensor again.
Just as a review and to get clarification I seem to remember that on my 99 L there was talk that the factory left the Knock sensor on our blocks but it wasn't used and was not in our programing due to the noise from out Eaton SC giving faulse signals.
True?
False?
If that is true is the sensor still on our later L engines?
Would the Whipple desgin allow us to take advantage of this?
The way I remember it there was nothing in the wiring harness connected to it but I doubt that they would give us a special harnes than a regular F150.
Just curious what you guys think about that.
I am almost willing to do the Whipple 2.3 mod for more longevity to my engine. I know the intercooler is there for taking the heat out but it couldn't hurt to have more boost with less heat gain.
More HP and torque is always a good thing in my book. Less heat going into the heads.
Part of what triggered this thought was the topic on the Water cooling flow mod article. Sure makes a lot of sense.
Thanks
