if you do a search, you'll find a lot of really helpful info on this subject as its been covered thousands of times. but to help you out, everyone pretty much agrees that catbacks are only for sound, and the only place you'll see good gains is with a full header-back exhaust, which is (debatably) not worth the money. For a stockish truck you really won't see as many gains as with say a 500rwhp application. but with a full exhaust (see sponsoring vendors section of site for those) u should net around 20-40rwhp gain.

Hello Whitelighting,

I pretty much concur with birdy111.

I tend to very carefully weigh the "value" of each mod to my truck.
(See my web page for what I've done) So far the only two that really were not of a good bang for the buck value (and I knew it before the purchases) were a flex-a-lite e-fan and the stall convertor.

At the top of your list you'll want to get you a "chip, filter, pulley" kit from one of the supporting vendors. I personally like http://www.razorsedgemotorsports.com/ in south Fla. Also, a very very good second mod/value is to have the blower ported.

Rich

i have read good things about the magnaflow catback and a buddy of mine had one on an 00 L and it sounded great, and they are cheaper than bassani. as for intakes, go with JLP and make your own ram air hose set up. i personally really like the look of the JLP airbox and that it keeps more hot air from the filter vs just an open element cone filter intake setup. predators (reflashes the computer via the diagnostic port aka OBD II) are good too, but about $400. but they datalog and read CEL's.
