Hi, I bought this truck yesterday (in sig)

It's got a diablo flip chip with Stock , Stree, and Strip mode..

What's the difference, and what would be the safest to run.

 

What does it feel like to you?

It could be lots of things.

Shift points
line presure
rev limiter
fuel
timing

Listen for detonation when your in race mode.

Best to find out from who had it what they had it burned for.
Sometimes on the back of the chip there will be a sticker with the numbers for the type of program if it is just a standard burn.

You might call and ask in that case and find out the details.
Unless your the origanal purchaser and can prove it they may not help much.
Expect to pay about $100 to send it in find out or change it.

I had a flip chip that came with my 99. I never did know what the programs were. I never heard it ping so I just ran it depending on my mood. Never caused me any problems in 20K miles that I know of.
Just turn off the radio and try it out. Run the best pump gas you have in your area.

Not exactly. You can use THESE GUYS and get it done for $35 plus shipping. I had my flip chip in four different trucks 2000 Lightning, 2002 HD Screw, 2003 Lightning, and now in a 98 5.4 Expedition and it has had around 12 programs burned on it so far. No problems. It is a very versitile piece of equipment.

can anyone give me an instruction manual on this.. or a link to one.. just to read a bit on it.

 

Well the street is probably tuned for 93 or 91 oct, whichever is local, and the strip is porbably for 100oct or better, and the stock is well stock.
