Talking Bling Badges

So how do you make the badges on the front wings and tailgate go all silver and shiny?

Full instructions if possible.

I think I have been listening to too much Rap! Haha! Watch out P Diddy here I come.

Yes sir.... Thats what I did. Be careful to tape as close to the badge as possible or your paint will bubble and you don't want that.

I can't emphasize enough that you need to mask all around the badge and get as close to (or on) the outer edges of the badge. Most are not painted there anyway. If they are, try to get the tape between the badge and the paint (if possible).

Now think, "What happens if I drip acetone?". Now mask below the badge to protect against drips. I used newspaper (3 layers) which gave me protection of about 10 inches on either side of the badge and all the way down below it. Overkill? Maybe, but I have learned from experience that it is always best to protect my work from my own ten thumbs and Murphy's Law.

Get a box of Q-Tips. Toss 'em when they get dirty. I kept a small paper sack right next to me while I worked. Take your time and I think you'll be happy with the result.

Here's my result

Dave...
