Installed my FTVB

Today I installed my FTVB and Moroso pan. Very easy install with clearly described details on each part. it does'nt chirp second like I thought it would, but still has very firm shifts. I am very happy. Should have been my first mods!

Chip and a pulley and you will do more than chirp them into 2nd.

hmm.. I heard they get softer with use.

The one I have installed is a freak. It about rips your head off every time it shifts 1-2 and 2-3. I never once increased the line pressure.
For the first year and a half, I had the shift duration set to stock position. This summer (late summer) I finally had the 1-2 shift dururation turned off.

Give it a few week (oil change time length) and it should be better by then

Mine hits just as hard as the day I installed it. About year and half now. Mine shifts like you describe also I-menace.

if you don't have a chip or programmer, you still have the computer cutting the cylinders between the 1-2 shift so you won't get any chirp.

If you eliminate that, it shouls happen at 3/4 throttle or above. Mine will shift firm with light pressure but if it is WOT, it will damn near break my neck. I love it!

Also check the fluid level as it may be low which is what happend to me.

Mine is a stock 2002 with a K&N.

I can chirp 2'nd every time with 1/2 throttle, and in cold weather it will break the tires loose at 40.

Btw I am at 80 ft above sea level

I couldn't tell if mine was chirping or not with Long tubes+hiflow cats+ Silver Bullet.

It sounds like a big bear, in a bigger cave, with a red hot poker shoved up his... well you get the picture.

It sure does shift a lot quicker though. It should come from the factory like this. The first mod anyone should do. IMO

whoa wait a second.

The FTVB was one of the first mods I did... months before I had a chip or PCM reflash.

I could shift at 1000 or 5000 rpms. EVERYTIME it at leasts barks the tires.
At higher RPM's I'd leave nive long black marks.

Once I got the chip installed (still bone stock setting regarding the tranny) I'd chirp 3rd occassionally. Not do to any changes in the tranny perimeters, but do to more power.

No chip needed. It's entirely mechanical and doesn't affect anything but shift duration and firmness.

did it do anything to help track times at all or is it just firmer shifts and what not. know what i mean? like can you notice your faster now off the line and climbing the gears or is it just barely noticable in that regard

Do you guys that claim "it will break your neck" have the 4C or 2C one. The 4C is more aggresive than the 2C which is what I have, and it is comfortable shifting. Could that be the difference in mine and all of yours?
