Where does this interior plastic go?

When I picked up my L there was a small broken piece of plastic about 2 inches long and about 1 inch wide laying behind the passenger seat. I let the salesman know I would search the truck so the new plastic could be ordered, but I have went thru the truck for an hour now and can't find out where this piece was broken off.

The color and texture seems to match the plastic molding behind the seats and up the sides of the cab in back.

If anyone has any idea where I should look I would appreciate it.

On a side note: Is there supposed to be any plastic trim over the black seat belt hold down bolts in the floor on an 04? I have nothing there, just seems kindof unfinshed to me.

thanx guys

it looks to me like a piece that would cover the anchor for the seatbelt to the floor....

I don't have any covers on my seatbelt anchors on the floor,
so there are supposed to be covers there?

I found a few piks of various L's showing the anchors and they don't have covers...

Can anyone confirm this about the 03/04s?
as I am confused now

For what it's worth, my 03 has no covers for the seatbelt anchors. I too had a piece of plastic behind the passenger seat. It is Much bigger than that one though. It's kinda flat almost looks like a scrap piece.

I bet you are talking about a piece that snaps on the bracket that holds the center armrest. I found mine in the door panel pocket...

Move the seat all the way forward, and from the passenger side, flip the pass seat forward and look down by the carpet at the curved bracket holding the armrest.

Ironman - sorry to side-track your thread - I have no idea on your piece - great pics, though...

That is part of the moulding from the bottom of the door sill. Check both of those to make sure they are in correctly, especially to the rear, which is where that piece comes from. If you don't remove this piece correctly, this tab breaks off of the back.

thanx for the replies guys,

I went thru the truck for another hour,
and can see no damage, so I guess I'll try and let it go.

Still picks my a$$ though.

It looks like the piece on the door sill. Location: Either door open, look at bottom, and to the right on the drivers side, the plastic from the rear speaker panel slips under the door sill plastic. That may be the piece that holds it in place. Look on other side also.

Youd be surprised how, many extra parts, etc come in new cars. I work for chevy and deal with all the new cars coming into the dealership. I find extra parts, and broken peices all the time and never find the exact part it broke off of.

Last April I took 100% of my interior out and I don't remember anything like that. My suggestion is throw it away and forget it. If you keep it,every time you see it it will ******you off.
