Quick easy fix for the front bumper cover ???
Quick easy fix for the front bumper cover ???
OK. I have tried searching but came up with nothing. I have seen in the past that someone offered some "plastic push in plugs that were painted to you paint code" for those of us who were unlucky enough for the bastards at the dealership to screw holes in the bumper cover by installing the license plate bracket. Anybody know where to get these things ???
Hi again...
What I think you are looking for is (in paint & body shop terms) called a "Christmas-tree clip" - its basically a push in "plug" that does the job of a nut and bolt in many applications like inner fenders and bumper cover installations (usually on the bottom out of sight).
The part that shows looks like a flat or tapered washer. The other side has a shaft with rings of plastic that taper to the top like a Christmas tree. The rings are what hold the clip into the hole.
There are many variations on this design, as well.
There are an almost unlimited number of sizes, and many automotive paint stores (that cater to body shops) have large assortments on hand.
Other sources are "Help" parts (or similar misc parts) at O'Rileys, Autozone, etc, also Home Depot/Lowes have some of these types of things in their "Specialty" drawers in hardware.

well i have the clips, dont know where from though cause the truck came like that, but i had some paint left over from my calipers and they matched my red truck perfectly, if ur truck is red it was high temp brake paint from pep boys and the bright red, matches our truck perfectly. It was like 3-5 bucks a bottle too, i dont remember exactly it was a while ago.
