2004 L pricing
2004 L pricing
I am looking at purchasing an '04 L and am wondering what special incentives (if any) Ford is running to get rid of the leftover stock. What are some deals some of you are seeing/getting. Any info is appreciated.
Just bought my '04 L 2 weeks ago, and let me tell you, you have no bargaining power right now. I live in Houston, and the nearest available L was in Kansas. The local dealer had to have it shipped down here. When it came to negotiating, he just raised an eyebrow and said "you're kidding, right?". Paid $28K for mine, no incentives.
These guys have been advertising Lightnings @ $27,691 for a month or so now.......(in local papers and mailings)

$27,500-$28,500 would be fair, but availability is the current issue. The last few months have leaned out the stock and "traveling" and "used" is mentioned more and more.

I talked to a salesman at Greenway in Orlando who sold me mine back in March. They have about 15 on the lot...no incentives. He said they bought them up because there will be no more. Sounds like no bargaining to me....
Checked out Greenway and they have the following listed -5-Black-4-Red-4-Silver-1-Gray (Dark Shadow). Makes you kinda nervous knowing there's only a handfull left and BYE BYE.
Makes you want to go in debt up to your eyeballs and buy 2 or 3 and hang on to them.

You are in a great bargaining position.
If a dealer has one right now, he's looking at a 2004 that will be PERCEIVED as two model years behind on Saturday. On a truck that hasn't sold well and historically... if an L is on the lot in November it's still there in March.
Invoice minus $500 minus $2,750 in current incentives puts you at $27,000 to $27,500 which will thrill a dealer right now.
"Makes you want to go in debt up to your eyeballs and buy 2 or 3 and hang on to them." Save it for the Skippy Peanut Butter Christmas 2004 Collector's Edition jars. '04 L's won't be worth $27k again for a few decades unless the currency goes nuts.

'04 L - Toy not investment!

I promise your not going to have any leverage on buying a new Lightning. And the only great position your going to be in is bent over! You will get a few breaks on the price but not very much. And all the Lightnings at Greenway is in Florida, I guess you mean they sit from November to March because of winter.Last time I checked 4-wheel drives, snow tires and chains are not to big in Florida. And I would bet by March there will be very few L's left, if any.Now this no new Gen lll thing has come up, and I don't think all the dealers who have Lightnings on there lot's are siting around having emergency meetings on how to unload these two year old trucks that don't sell well to begin with!
And the reason I said, I wish I could get a couple is for me to enjoy, not to stickem' in a garage and hope to make money on them. I love the body style of the Gen ll's and this will be the last chance to have a brand spanking new one. They might not be worth loads of $ but sometimes money isn't everything when you really like something.Sorry so long.

I believe I saw that the '04 Lightning has $2,000 (Dealer cash program) and $500 cash back if using X-Plan until Jan 3rd. It depends on the zip code you are from for the $500.
If it is still valid, the dealer may not tell you about the dealer cash program.

My 04 came from Kansas as well - they must be hoarding them up there
