okay, I am a newbie........what's the different between a chip and a programer?
I am a newbie with the L, what is the different between a chipped L and a programming a L? Just trying to understand the difference before buying all these stuffs........hee..........hee...........
Chip plugs into the computer. The programmer hooks to the diagnostic port and you can re-flash the computer with a tune. I would suggest the SCT as it limits what you can play with yourself... you don't want to mess with too much without the right knowledge. The Predator is nice if you really know what you are doing.
Wecome G,
ANY unit is only as good as WHO TUNES IT
You DO NOT want to buy one mail order with an off the shelf
tune, you want to buy one from a Lightning Tuner, hopefully one
of our tuners

A Predator will come with a Tune, and after you upload it
(via the diagnostic port), YOU can then tweak it a little.
Meaning YOU can adjust the A/F a little, timing, shift points, etc
As said you NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING and what your L can take before messing with it. The SCT can not do this, BUT
has an advantage because it'll hold multi programs, the Pred only holds one.
Personally I still rather a Diablo Multi Chip, because I like to switch programs on the fly, and do so very often.
