Lowered rear, now have wheel hop?

Just installed my 2" lowering brackets yesterday, and noticed that when I romp the gas pedal off the line I get violent wheel hop. Before the lowering, I simply spun terribly off the line.

If this is normal after lowering, what's the fix? By the way, my new black L looks killer with blacked-out windows and the rear lowered.

Traction bars are definitely in the near future. Just wondering why the wheel hop all of a sudden? Change in pinion angle?

Boogie, thats odd, because when I put in 2" Belltech drop shackles on my 2002 this summer, a lot of the wheel hop went away. Seemed like the rear squatted better.

You dont have a 2003-2004 L, do you?

The change in pinion angle can increase wheel hop. Wheel hop occurs when the axle tries to rotate around the tires. The only thing that controls that rotation is the stiffness of the springs (which you did not change) and the pinion snubber. In adding the drop shackles, you've lifted the rear of the spring and rotated the pinion nose downward slightly. That downward rotation is apparently enough to give the rear end just enough more move to let it get into violent wheel hop. An easy fix may be to put a spacer behind the pinon snubber to make it longer. That way it will stop the rotation sooner.

Polish- yeah, it's a 2004.

Kerno - I'll take a look at the snubber to see if there's anything I can do. Maybe I should put angled shims between the axle housing & springs to get the angle where it needs to be.
