What ever you do don't run them in the winter. Keep em clean, don't let brake dust stay on to long, wash them whith regular car wash when they are cool.

You'll just need to keep them clean and hit 'em with chrome polish about twice a year. Properly done chrome lasts a long time. My wife drives a '93 RX-7 which has had chrome wheels on it since it was purchased in 1992. That's 12 years and no sign of peeling. If you curb them, you can hurt the chrome, but they can be stripped and replated. Two thing affect the quality of chrome wheels. First, the wheels need to be properly polished, because the chrome does not build up enough to cover a poor polish job. The plater needs to do triple chrome and they'll last longer than you'll keep the truck.

sn03LGC: I e-mailed you a source I had very good luck with.

What generation chrome wheels you referring to? I've had chrome wheels on my Mustang since new and they look as good as they day they were put on. These were chrome plated pony wheels from 1994. There are cheap wheels out there, but if you stick to quality wheels, there won't be a problem. Chrome wheels are very low maintenance and look good with a quick washing. and a couple waxings a year. The only disadvantage is the weight, but I would gladly exchange that for the ease of maintenance.

I have chrome 2000 wheels from Tirerack that I bought in 2000

There is no salt down here but they look great after 4 years - And I dont take real good care of them -

There have been problems with some of the exchange rechromes people have bought ... But these were Ford parts and they are nice ...

Need to figure out a way to pay for a Set of chrome 2004 rims...

Doug

No, I agree with you. TXSVT has my favorite setup with black powdercoated rims in my opinion, the polished lip really sets them off.
