Bassani equal length headers

Are now installed on my truck. That was a big pain in the ***. I thought I would get it done pretty quick, but I was wrong. I got it done in about 2 1/2 hours. I had the front wheels off, inner fender liners out, midpipes and catback hanging down, and it still fought me on the drivers side. It feels more responsive on the throttle, but that could be the "ghost mod" feeling. It may be in my head. I may have lost some boost indication, but I know I am making power. Wish I had pics to post, but I was working like hell to get em installed so I could drink with the guy that helped me.

Angry Headers

I agree i installed the same ones just a few days after buying my truck, your problems bring back memories of just how hard to install but how nice they made the truck run and sound. Enjoy your hard work

Yeah, what kind of power did you make with the Bassani headers?

I haven't found anyone yet who has posted good empirical evidence that they make power. I found one person who said they got 5hp. Almost everyone else on the board when you ask says forget it and go longtubes. I *might* be able to get away running Bassani headers, but I sure as hell won't get away running long tubes...

So, I'm on the fence contemplating staying stock headers, going Bassani, or forgetting it and going long tubes and swapping in the stockers every 2 yrs.

Inquiring minds wanna know!

Headers

Thanks for the complements, and the trunk made 419hp and 535 ft lbs tq. I dont know if long tubes are that much better i only know that i like the numbers and the way the truck sounds and i think i will leave them on.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year

my L has the exact same set up, lucky my headers were on it when I bought it but I put the mid pipes and catback on...got damn she will scream!!!! I think with my set up I loose a pound or so in average weather and gain it back in cooler weather. I would think that overall the motor is just running better because it is breathing better wich is good for the 6lb, I think that I'm going to do the port, I think with full exhaust I should be cool.

My extra blower case will be back on friday of next week I think. It is getting ported by a buddy of mine. I lost about a pound and a half or so of boost indication. After the port, it should see 13 or so again.

when i put the long tubes on, i felt a seat of the pants diffrence not a hole, lot but some. when i dynoed it i had gained 15 hp

now those numbers might have been proof that the stock exhaust was choking the motor. i was running 17lbs of boost

I have run Bassani sorties for 2 years now and have no issues with them. I am getting raced tuned this winter and will be tuning with the sorties. I plan to change them only as a last resort! I would love to make a 10 sec. run using them to show it can be done.
How many times in the race world have we all heard you have to have this or you have to have that bolt on, only to see others do it with out it.

I personally believe that any thing is possible if you are willing to try!
