Traded up... Exhaust Question

Well, I traded my 2000 L with 47,000 miles and a bundle of cash for a new 2004 L with 100 miles.

My question is: How long should I wait before I install my maggy cat back that I took off my old L? I performed a quick search, but did not find anything to help me.

I am not sure if I need to wait xxxx miles before I change the exhaust. This new truck is sweeter than YooHoo, but too quiet.

Thanks,
Scott

If I were you, and I don't know how you plan on treating your truck, (I'm sure you'll be good to it) I would wait til I've got 1000 miles on it before I would put the exhaust on. I'd let the truck break in properly and make sure it doesn't have any major problems with it, not that it will have major problems, but I'd rather have piece of mind that its going to be a trouble free.

I'd change it right now before the pipes weld themselves together. It would be a much easier install. My 02 was a b%$#@.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to give it some time. Anyway, my ears could use the rest... for now!

I don't know why you would even bother waiting. Slap that Maggy exhaust in! I doubt the added backpressure on the exhaust is going to help your motor break in any better by any measurable difference.

Also, if you have any problem with your truck, as long as you don't ask them to warranty the exhaust, you should not have a problem getting it covered under warranty.

Swap it in... enjoy the rumble.
