Pinion Angle

I posted this a month or 2 back

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t=pinion+angle
Well i got the angle finder measured the angle was 0 at tranny and 5.5 at the rearend. I then got the shims removed, measured angle and it is 2 at tranny and 5.4 at rearend so that would make a 3.4 degree angle right? is that the right angle?
Thanks,
Simon

you need to have the angles cancell out.So if you are neg on one end and pos on the other then the diff is the driveshaft angle.I could care less what each angle is individually it is what they total that is important!Stan

Isnt 3 to 4* neg what you want? That is what my understanding is. He should be in that range.

I take it you have an 03-04 with the shim, I simply flipped mine with the 2"drop in the rear and put me what I understand to be ideal 3 to 4 * neg. No driveline vibe with my set-up.

Cool yeah I have an 04. I have the 4 inch dorp shackles from JLP and removed the shims. So I figured the angle and I guess I am fine.
